Apps in Education: Cool Drawing Apps for Primary School - 12 views

  •
"So many classroom activities are only fully realised when your students add their sketches to embellish their work, or to annotate a concept. Sometimes they just need to describe an object. Here are a series of apps that allow the creative little Picasso or Frida in your class to express themselves. Most of these are so intuitive that your students will be drawing before you know it."

Grading with Voice on an iPad - ProfHacker - The Chronicle of Higher Education - 6 views

  •
"One of the frustrating things I found in teaching online last semester was the lack of direct contact with students. The class felt impersonal, despite my efforts to give it life. I found that especially frustrating when I graded assignments. The feedback seemed cold and distant, even as I as I tried to point out strong areas of writing and multimedia projects. I overcame this in part by using my iPad to add audio comments to grading. This was a revelation to me. Using an app called iAnnotate, I could write comments on PDFs but also add voice comments, allowing me to make grading more personal but also add details that I otherwise wouldn't have included."

Recording video on the iPhone - Tips from The Kim Komando Radio Show® & Web site - 0 views

  •
Some good advice from Kim Komando re recording video on the iPhone. Sure hope an app is developed soon! I'm not willing to jailbreak my phone yet.
  •
The iPhone does not include a tool for recording video. The problem isn't that the iPhone isn't capable of recording video. It is. However, it does not include an application that will do it. Nor is there one in the App store. a number of developers are working on video recorders. In fact, you can download a video recording app online. Several are available. I strongly recommend that you avoid these apps, though. Why? The fact that they're not in Apple's App Store is a big clue. They're not approved by Apple. In order to install one, you must jailbreak your iPhone. Jailbreaking an iPhone replaces its firmware. Incorporating Words Into Images | nashworld - 16 views

  •
Most would agree that "A picture is worth a thousand words." Perhaps strangely, allow me to make the case that sometimes there is also value in distilling those thousand words into a scant few. This little post is a bit of practical sharing meant to point to two things: a cute little iOS application, and a few quick examples of its practical use. Oh, and really, I wouldn't be doing it here if it wasn't worth at least a handful of words as well.

You can also limit your search to free only apps. Another great feature of the site is the ability to share your "Device" on social networks. You can also add your device to your blog."

iPodNN | First Look: Find My iPhone - 0 views

  •
This looks like a valuable feature on the new iPhone OS 3.0. Getting ready to check it out. Has anyone tried it?
  •
One of the most anticipated features of the new iPhone OS 3.0 is the ability to find lost devices using Apple's MobileMe web service, which requires an annual fee. Find My iPhone plots the location of a missing phone on a map, allows users to flash a message on the screen and play an alert tone. If all else fails, the user can remotely erase any personal data on an iPhone.

Google Swiffy - 16 views

Swiffy converts Flash SWF files to HTML5, allowing you to reuse Flash content on devices without a Flash player (such as iPhones and iPads).Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 8 and ActionScript 2.0, and the output works in all Webkit browsers such as Chrome and Mobile Safari. If possible, exporting your Flash animation as a SWF 5 file might give better results.
