SO... WHAT IS PADILICIOUS? PADILICIOUS.COM, when viewed on your Mac, is an entirely different site than what you're seeing here. The other site (to view, tap here) contains free Mac OS X tools for automatically generating interactive web-apps for the iPad. And these web-apps can be easily shared with others, by using the free tools to automatically upload them to your MobileMe sites folder. Some good advice from Kim Komando re recording video on the iPhone. Sure hope an app is developed soon! I'm not willing to jailbreak my phone yet.

The iPhone does not include a tool for recording video. The problem isn't that the iPhone isn't capable of recording video. It is. However, it does not include an application that will do it. Nor is there one in the App store. a number of developers are working on video recorders. In fact, you can download a video recording app online. Several are available. I strongly recommend that you avoid these apps, though. Why? The fact that they're not in Apple's App Store is a big clue. They're not approved by Apple. In order to install one, you must jailbreak your iPhone. Jailbreaking an iPhone replaces its firmware. As I continue to explore new apps on my iPhone, I am striving to post about two types of apps each time: a game or fun app and one that is educational or increases productivity in some fashion. Also, I plan to highlight one free and one purchased app each time.

Always great to find recommendations for iPhone apps from other educators. Liz Kolb mentioned Karen Montgomery in her recent radio show and Karen is sharing her favorites on her blog. Intrigued by Yummy which is a free bookmark manager that allows you to search Delicious and add/edit bookmarks from iPhone. Just wish it worked with Diigo too!

The growth of mobile devices has claimed a 6.8 percent chunk of US web traffic from conventional PCs, according to a new report by comScore. Of that segment, about two thirds of the traffic is from mobile phones and a remaining third is being generated by tablet users. The group notes that Apple's iPad now accounts for 97.2 percent of all tablet-originating web traffic, driving home the reality that competitors have not yet released a significant tablet competitor. Among iOS users, iPad now accounts for 46.8 percent of all traffic generated, making it now a more prolific tool than the iPhone for mobile web use, which represents 42.6 percent of iOS traffic. An increasingly important market segment The firm also outlined why the growth of tablet traffic is significant, noting that almost half of tablet owners have completed purchases using their tablet. "Tablet owners exhibited significant use of their devices throughout the entire online shopping process," comScore reported, "from doing the initial planning, conducting product and store research, making price comparisons, to finally transacting. In the past month, more than half of tablet owners looked up product or price information for a specific store (56 percent) and read customer ratings and reviews while on a tablet (54 percent)."
