The Fives Booklet - 0 views

  •
The Author of this booklet, Sean Sweeney, came up with his own app reviewing system which he called the "FIVES". Yet another acronym to add to the Education world. Using this system, he rates apps and other resources using 5 questions: Free? Interactive? Visual? Educational Relevant? Speechie? On page four of the booklet there is a short explanation of what each part of the rating system means. Speechie is a self-coined term by the author. If you are to read through the rest of the Booklet, you would find further detail and explanation of each criteria area. The author also includes reviews of some apps he has used in his practice.

The video is very straightforward. Although it does not give any real instruction on exactly HOW to use the iPad in the classroom, it does show effective use of three different apps. Popplet, a QR-code scanner (which I'm sure could be one of many), and iMovie. It seems like it could be a fourth or fifth grade science classroom and they are using the iPad as a tool to help them complete pencil and paper worksheets.
