The Stock Market regain sharply followed by short covering in banking and financials, capital goods, auto and select oil stocks after falling for previous seven sessions. The BSE Sensex gained 281.62 points to 26762.26 and NSE Nifty rise 80 points to 8102.40. The broader market outperformed benchmarks with BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising 1.2 percent and 1 percent respectively.

The market has opened higher after positive lead from global companions. The BSE Sensex rose 83.62 points to 26276.60 and the Nifty NSE climbed 25.20 points to 8002.30. Around 515 shares have progressed, 149 shares declined, and 27 shares are unaltered on the BSE. Infosys, M&M, Axis Bank, ONGC, BHEL, Bosch and Bank of Baroda were driving counters in early trade, up 0.8-1.3 percent. Nonetheless, Hindalco topped the selling list, down 1.8 percent.

The stock market opened lower, analysing the global market. The BSE Sensex fell 91.41 points to 28279.43 and the NSE Nifty declined 24.45 points to 8565.35. About 495 shares have advanced, 278 shares declined, and 71 shares are unchanged on the BSE. GAIL, Lupin and Wipro lost 1-3 percent post first quarter earnings. Vedanta and ICICI Bank slipped over 1 percent. However, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, TCS, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, Cairn India, BPCL and HCL Tech are early gainers.

The BSE Sensex gained 135.55 points at 27698.98 and the NSE Nifty rose 40.75 points to 8415.80. About 713 shares have advanced, 119 shares declined, and 64 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Cipla, HDFC, Axis Bank, BHEL, ONGC and Cairn India rallied 1-1.5 percent. However, ITC lost 0.6 percent ahead of earnings. GAIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Power and Ambuja Cements also declined.

The market failed to rebound on Thursday despite upside in Asian markets and further upmove in European markets. Technology, auto, oil and FMCG stocks dragged the market down while capital goods & pharma supported. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 114.06 points to 27573.66 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 34.50 points to 8328.55. The broader markets, too, declined in late trade. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were down 0.33 percent each. Though the Greece and China woes continue to weigh, the market started focussing on April-June quarter earnings, believe experts.
