FACEinHOLE.com - Who do you want to be today? - 0 views

While much of this site is just plain silly, or even inappropriate, this is still a fun site.  The art section is great and can get kids looking at famous paintings and talking about them - a good resource for language teachers.

This wiki is an open education resource that allows you to connect with other educators around the world and access to free resources. In order to download free materials you are required to join the wiki. It looks like a great resource for classroom teachers of any level or content area. There were even special interest groups you could join such as STEM, New Teachers, Technology Integration, and many more. Lots and lots of resources to look through!
  •
Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. I agree that this resource could be used for my classroom. It provides many resources for teachers including lesson plans to implement into their teaching. Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. I believe it is mostly for teacher use as a means of gathering resources to implement into teaching. Are you aware of any simililar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. I have seen websites like this, including teacherspayteachers.com and smartboard.com.
  •
I totally agree that this resource will be efficiency to my future classroom, very helpful resource in math for teachers and students. this is a global website, teachers contribute from many different countries.
  •
Great resource! Although it states K-12, I think many of the ideas can be re-tooled for higher education also. It is so great to have the tools so readily available. Why try to reinvent the wheel? This resource shares great, tested ideas, and as you said, downloadable and ready to go!
  •
What a great resource! Thanks for sharing it with us. I will be able to use this resource as I create and plan my themed units for the year. I really like that I can search by theme and grade and then tie that directly to the core. This resource is primarily for teachers as it pertains to planning for instruction.

About the Blog (Reality 101: CEC's blog for new teachers) - 0 views

  •
A blog about being a teacher in both the fields of special education and gifted and talented students. This blog discusses the many issues teachers in this field face.
  •
This was a very interesting blog. Although I rarely deal with special education or gifted and talented students on a regular basis, there is great information here that also carries over to regular classroom teaching. I enjoyed one blog on assessments especially. I always enjoy sharing other educator's perspectives on all things educational (or not). I could see anyone involved in education benefiting from this blog in one way or another.

New Ipad App for Classroom Collaboration - 4 views

  •
This is an article discussing a new Ipad App called "Spin" which allows students to hold a online, collaborative discussion while viewing multiple videos at once. This is said to be the new "Skype" allowing communication and interactive discussion to occur throughout the world with one application. Something for teachers to look into for their own classrooms one day! This application seems like it might have a future in our schools.

Wow, what a great collaborative app! In addition to implementing in the classroom, this appears to also have great potential for facilitating distance education. I wonder what the network bandwidth requirements are and how many simultaneous video streams can be supported?
  •
This looks like it could be the future of distance education. A great tool that could be incorporated into a class like our online Ed Tech classes at UNI. I am not sure if I would use this in a regular classroom, it would depend on the lesson, but this appears to be the new and best option for online video discussions.
  •
This looks like it has some great potential. I am going to have to check it out further.
  •
This is a really cool App that will be very useful in Problem Based Learning environments because it is a great collaborative tool. Great Post Hannah!

Sophia for Teachers - 1 views

This resource is from Capella University and their teachers are teaching many different tutorials about math and science. This resources gives tips and tools to better teach  in the classroom .
  •
What a wonderful and credible resource! After exploring the site I think I would mainly use these as a resource for myself as a teacher. But I do think some of the tutorials may be appropriate for upper elementary grades and on. In a way, this reminds me of the Khan Academy website. If you can't remember how to do something or if you need a new way to teach something then this would be an excellent tool to turn to.

This is a really neat blog! I always enjoy reading about new and creative ideas that I could possibly use in my future classroom. Mrs. Nessman's blog is very impressive and creative! I could definitely see myself using this blog as a reference when I am a teacher. I have not encountered any other blog that is this innovative. Thanks for sharing this blog. Although I am a Special Education teacher I still felt like their were a lot of ideas I could apply to my classroom. It's always fun to see what other educators out their are doing. This blog would be used primarily for teachers as its all about ideas in the classroom for instruction and projects. However you could use it to create a project choice list for you students to choose to complete so many by the end of the year.

I really enjoyed exploring this website. I really like the fact that it is a secure website. We sometimes find websites in which can lead us to false information or unwanted information so I feel that this one is one that I would feel safe about including in my own classroom. This website is a site where teachers can go and create a wiki for their class.  I would use it for different subjects or just for my class as a whole.

Good source to pass on to teachers looking to expand in their classroom. Neat examples that would benefit the teacher that is looking to challenge their students. I have been looking for something like this to help our English teacher wanting a good source with Wikis - Thanks
  •
I thought this was a great, easy to understand resource. It also gives great examples. For me, it answered a lot of questions about wikis that I had. It also gives great ideas of how to use them. Overall, a very informative great website!
