I admit it. I LIKE trivia, tho it serves no purpose for me because I could never remember any to bring up in conversation. But still, it is fun, so I have produced this list of amazing trivia that I found to be absolutely fascinating.
1. Snails can rest around 3 years.
Not amazing actually since I have managed to sleep through 6 years-of jr. high and high school. And once you think about it, what do snails want to do all their lives? Certain, they leave good slime trails and make exemplary targets for small boys and salt shakers, but other than that theres perhaps not much more to do but rest after a strenuous run across a pavement.
2. National Air companies saved $40,000 in 1987 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first-class.
Till I read this, I was convinced that there was an olive missing from my salad, yet no-one would trust me. Now I am vindicated! I'm now looking for proof that the airlines have taken one peanut from each bag. I'll keep you posted.
3. An ostrich's eye is larger than its brain.
After reading this, I understood that I know of many people who have exactly the same problem! But thats an article about politicians I'm working on. For me, it's frequently that my eyes are bigger than my stomach..
4. Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a time.
Well, I'd like to see anybody keep this up long enough to really drop 150 calories. Since I consider it, I Do not wish to see..
5. Donald Duck comics were banned in Finland because he does not wear jeans.
This is totally understandable. I am talking about, who wants to look at a duck without pants o-n? Besides, I understand that it's what the law states for all birds to wear jeans in-the city limits of Finland.
6. Should you pass gas regularly for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is made to create the power of an atomic bomb.
I tried to verify or disprove this, but two things stopped me.. I really could not stand to look at a plate of soup following the third day, and my girl-friend threatened to leave me.. Though it was somewhat hard to tell what she was really saying with that gasmask on.
7. In ancient Egypt, priests plucked EVERY hair from their health, including their eyebrows and lashes.
Now, this bit of trivia leaves A Lot, Allot to the imagination, that will be probably the best thing. BUT, I'd like to point out, you'd have to be pretty warm to get some on those locks. nuff said.
8. The ant often comes over on its right side when consumed.
I know this trivia truth is incorrect 'cause I have gone drinking with my ants several times and I have seen them fall over in several different directions.. usually they have a tendency to fall on my uncles tho. Browse here at christmas trivia to explore the inner workings of this belief.
9. The average man feeds eight lions in their lifetime through the night.
I do not find out about this fact.. I've seen many spiders during the night and never once felt compelled to eat one. If smoked precisely although I hear that index is delicious.
10. And now for the final fun trivia fact:
Some elephants mate over 5-0 times a day.. No wonder the ladies do all of the work.
