ashley kate on 18 Aug 09Traditionally, there were only sperm banks, which accept sperm donations. This establishment accepts sperm from healthy young men in exchange for a small fee. The donated sperm are then frozen and stored for future storage. The use of these sperms is related to third party reproduction techniques that allow couple who cannot produce offspring to have a child of their own. Later on women have also started donating eggs for the same cause of providing material for third party reproduction. Women eggs are used in IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) techniques to get a woman pregnant, and more recently in surrogate pregnancy where the couple doesn't want the egg of the surrogate mother be used.
