Maruti Suzukirecently posted a gain in net profits of 18% for the quarter ended in June 2011. In spite of a slow growth in the Indian auto industry, the company managed to record net profits to the tune of INR 549.2 crore, a growth of 18% against the INR 465.36 crores that it posted in the corresponding quarter, last year.

Nissan Motor India, which had been a fringe player till the launch of their Micra car in India, has quite a few big plans for the Indian auto market with Renault, its current alliance partner. The company is reportedly planning to release a small new car in the price bracket of INR 2 to 4 lakhs.

Adrian Sutil, the Force India F1 Team driver, recently registered his best performance this season, as the driver managed to come in at the sixth position at the German GP on Sunday. The driver for the F1 India team began at the eight position on the grid and managed to gain 2 more places by finish, with a 1:26:208 lap time.
