  So this is where I can open a safe environment for my students and myself to use like Facebook? Each class can be a group and we can keep it private?

  You can use Diigo to create a bookmarking site online for your students to access. Go to the Educator Accounts FAQ (http://help.diigo.com/teacher-account/faq) for more on Diigo in the classroom.
  
  Edmodo is an online, safe, educational website that you can use to set up classes. The layout is very similar to Facebook and is completely private, safe and free. There should be a link to edmodo on the Diigo Indian River Group. There is another site called Classroom Collaboration (also a link on the Diigo Group) that can be used for classroom discussion online.
