lots of resources to explore here but I need more timeto dig around.  The Carbon cycle is a click & read not a real simulation. But I do think there is value in here, perhaps with the GMO stuff.  I have not tagged it to show on the website, I think I would find specific sites for this.

TOK Certainty and Paradigm shifts - TOK & Critical Thinking - IB Biology - 1 views

This page needs to refer  to knowledge claims, what sort of justification does science have for knowledge, how can we know it is true? is there a place for belief in science  Alternatively - look at how does scientific knowledge grow?  THe idea that a scientific answer raises more questions.  Slowly getting at the truth

I think I've done that.  This page has taken me ages but I'm quite pleased with the result.  What do you think Jack?

David I like this page.  Good work!

This is a draft of an activity template - I'd be keen to use. What do you think? We could customise it for a series of resources, eg. lesson starters, or experiments. For worksheets, either pdf or google docs seems logical for me. what do you think? (the formatting on word documents doesn't work 100% on apple I don't think)

Just finished a new activity - based on a lesson I taught today.  What do you think Jack?
  •
David, The activity looks fine.  The worksheet takes a while to open, because it was the first time for me to use the Word web thing.  What is the advantage of the word web thing over a word doc in the file manager? I think I know but want to hear from you. Perhaps the teacher notes should say something about not using this activity for assessment as the data collection and processing are given.

One Page Revision Sheets - Exams - IB Biology - 0 views

hi Jack, I've had a bit of a flurry of activity, I've nearly done 3 more diagrams pages, and in the meantime I have started on a new series of pages, which I will use to help some of my grade 3 - 4 boarderline students, but thought they would be nice resources for the site - so I wrote them as lesson plans, and incorporated 'visible thinking' strategies into the plenary of each lesson.  There are five SL topics done, and 5 different plenaries.. What do you think?

This page needs a science pseudo science quiz, and a question sheet for the brain death activity I'd like to add an activity on scientifically testing if you are in love, critical analysis of claims that it is possible, but this could be another page. using the grid for evaluating scintific papers from GCSE

I need to write a worksheet of questions to go with the two short video clips - scientific method, falsification, and ways of knowing used in science, eg emotion, intuition, reason, perception

As a matter of consistency, we have used TOK in the subtopic pages and you have used ToK on this page.  It may not matter a lot but if we are to change for consistency, I would prefer we change this page and not all the subtopic pages!

David, I have looked at this page and a few others. I was intrigued by your tagxedos.  I load the program but can't find out how to create. It looks interesting but unavailable.  Also it seems you need the progrma to view the animated word cloud so a word to the reader might be needed.
  •
Hi Jack, Thanks for this. Are you using Safari? I think the animated cloud uses Microsoft Silverlight. I should work on Safari, but you are absolutely right it needs a note to invite users to install Silverlight. It will work on IE, Firefox, Safari4+ Chrome. Thanks

This is a key page to look at too, before any reviewers get hold of the site.  I think it should draw people in and show off the enormous amount of content that is behind the menu.  Not sure of the best way to do it.  But screencast tutorials could be worth a try.  I'll have a go at one at the weekend ?
