I know it's not what the picture is of, but to me it represents NAPLAN. The fact that we try to grade children who are as unique as a fingerprint with the same standardised tests still astounds me.
This picture is a great examplar for what represents ICT in my eyes in the Early childhood Sector. Through fostering close relationships and partnerships the children are able to all share ideas and engage together.
As a pre-service Special Education teacher i have seen that teaching is about forming a relationships. Trust, Mutual respect and authentic care must be formed before learning can begin.
Group work - in my obervastions there was a lot of group work and team building skills during a Physical Education lesson, at the beginning of the year. It created a great environment, where they felt safe and equal to contribute in the classroom.

When observing and teaching high school mathematics classes while on professional experience, one of the strongest impressions I had was the sense of disconnection felt by the students. A strong disconnection between their current and future lives and what they were learning in mathematics.
"one way" seems to be the underpinning assumption of most formal education. The is one curriculum, one path through that curriculum etc. The presence of the 2nd one way sign just adds to the sense of confusion that comes with most current formal education.
