Biology in Motion - 0 views

  •
Dr. Saul's Biology in Motion features fantastic interactive activities and animations for students to use to learn human biology concepts. The activities and animations seem to be targeted toward a middle school audience there is a lot of value in Biology in Motion for high school students too. Biology in Motion offers some good tips for teachers planning to use these activities in the classroom. Most of the tips are things that might seem obvious, but are good reminders none-the-less.

10 free Educational Game sites - 0 views

  •
I searched out and visited a bunch of sites with free educational games and selected the ten I thought were most useful and appropriate to education. In addition to a brief overview of each site, I have also attempted to define the grade range that each site is applicable to. I made my own judgement for most sites since it often wasn't indicated (feel free to weigh in if you think I'm off target on any of these). Most of these sites are geared towards K-12 (with many leaning towards K-6 or so), but some do have fun games that will challenge the Higher Ed student and adults as well. Take one for a spin today!

WordSift - Visualize Text - 0 views

  •
WordSift is another visualisation tool that was created primarily for teachers. It works just like Wordle but just a bit better. All you need do is paste in the text and then sit back. The sifted words then show up in orange or green and the fun really begins. This tool would be lots of fun on an IWB as well as on your own computer. Don't miss checking out the About section for more thoughts on using it. - comment by John Pearce
