This article is very interesting because it describes how the banking industry has become an oligopoly. I chose it because I would never have expected as such, as there seem to be so many small banks. It is also a greatly informative article because it discusses the increasing prices that will result from the shift in the type of market and talks about how the oligopoly is going to end up hurting the 99% of americans. 

This article refers to aggregate demand in 2010 and it states that India's fiscal and monetary policies had saved India from slipping onto another recession. Firstly the article states that India relies heavily on domestic demand because it cannot heavily rely on export and therefore they needed the measures to increase aggregate demand. This increase in aggregate demand, even though it has not been mentioned, can be assumed to shift the demand curve to the right and therefore more real output is demanded at every price level.

The republicans shift by saying that taxing the wealthy will balance the economy by a bit.

This article is interesting because it talks about the support the cable oligopoly is getting from the government. Apple is trying to enter the oligopoly, but the government is not allowing them to because they want to maintain the oligopoly. They don't want Apple taking a lot of the demand from other companies. Also, innovations have been lacking in cable TV and they don't want Apple to change that and cause price and demand shifts.

Japan is facing deflation, and it will effect the consumer confidence because of the exchange rate, this will cause a downward slope in the aggregate demand to shift to the left.

This article from the economist is actually very interesting, it explains that cargo ships are being redesigned to be able to carry more cargo containers but at the same time burn less fuel or at least the same amount. This means that the ships will spend less time docking as they wont have to make as many trips back in forth. This in return generates more profit and total revenue.

According to statistics of various communities in Naples, Florida, the housing market of that area is beginning to take a change. Many areas are beginning to shift in the amounts of real estate available versus the demand for this housing. Due to the concepts of the price mechanism, when less housing is available than what is demanded the price of real estate will increase, signalling what is possibly the recovery of the economy.

The housing market really is a complicated idea. It seems that the more governments foreclose houses, the more the are hurting the economy. This makes it very hard to better the housing market.

Although the rate of economic growth in China has slowed recently, a high amount of Foreign Direct Investment in China shows that there is still a large amount of confidence in the economy. Investment increased 16.1% over last year, up to $10.76 billion. Growth has shifted away from manufacturing towards services, partly due to an effort by the government to restructure the economy. In addition, the FDI by China to foreign countries has increased by nearly 50% to $7.23 billion, showing that the country receives nearly the same amount in FDI as it provides to other countries, reflecting balanced investment,
