USAID Sets Ending Extreme Poverty as Top Goal | IIP Digital - 0 views

  •
This article talks about eradicating extreme poverty, one of the Millennium Development Goals. Unfortunately, 1.2billion people in the world live in extreme poverty, which is unacceptable. McConnell attributes most of this unfortunate predicament to unstable and fragile political governments, where members of society are continually sieged in turmoil. Although one of the Millennium Goals have been achieved early, elimination of extreme hunger, poverty is still a perpetual and prevalent issue that the USAID plans to rigorously tackle.

This article is about how to fix the growing poverty gap. It emphasizes in particular how demand causes poverty. World Hunger: Food Scarcity - 0 views

  •
This article is concerned with world hunger and what can be done to rectify it. World hunger is, in fact, a problem with scarcity. The human race does not have enough resources to feed every individual. Ergo, food is involuntarily rationed in poorer countries. The article discusses what can and should be done to solve this problem, especially in Africa.

I liked the article it is really interesting because the scarcity of food is a problem and rapidly increase from day to day. Also your explanation of the article is clear and easy to understand and you gave the important points in the article. In my opinion, food scarcity is the worst problem in the world rather than oil scarcity or other resources because food is nutrition it s the only thing that keep people physically strong and especially for countries that are struggling with scarcity and starvation needs to be helped by strong countries and governments.

Ekurhuleni, a city in South Africa, is currently carrying out an agenda to fuel economic development in the city. The primary aim is to encourage investment in certain city-owned facilities, mainly a new airport, to combat unemployment, poverty, and inequality. The city is already in position to achieve economic growth, as it has several advantages including convenient location and highway access. This, combined with the ideas of the mayor Mondli Gungubele, are very good signs that Ekurhuleni will be able to gain investors and develop over time.

Household Incomes Remain Flat Despite Improving Economy - 0 views

  •
A new report from the Census Bureau shows that despite signs that the economy is improving in the United States, including dropping unemployment and increasing economic growth, the distribution of income in the country remains the same. Gains have been made for the top 5% of earners yet many others remain reliant on government aid. This brings up an important issue regarding what economic growth actually means for the people of a country. Although the economy may be expanding, the standard of living for struggling families may not be improving.
