DSLR Camera Remote's key feature is the ability to remotely trigger the shutter, or fire the camera. This seemingly basic feature is very powerful because it now allows you to trigger the camera in a variety of scenarios that would have been difficult or impossible before.

Cool ball camera, that takes 360 degree pictures

Crazy new camera that allows you to pull focus AFTER you take the picture. Only still photos for now, but they say they should be able to apply the technology to video.

Here is a simple idea by Peter G for creating a cheap camera slider using felt, a board and a picture frame. Take a board, wrap and staple some felt around it (fleece will also do). Screw some boards to the bottom to raise it up a bit (so the picture frame doesn't bump the tripod head), affix the wood to your camera plate.

In this video Jason Weeks shows you how to build his "Weeksy Rig," a DIY DSLR Fig Rig for around fifty bucks. Fig Rig is a camera stabilization device for smaller film cameras/video cameras, designed by director Mike Figgis.

I went out this past weekend and did a few experiments on "environmental" structures that made good bases and found some nice options over the course of running some errands. The video might give someone an idea for something they're working on, or it might also confirm that you're much smarter than me and I should have figured this simple crap out weeks ago.
