This is a free set of podcasts from a group of Apple Distinguished Educators regarding iPads and Inclusive Design.

For any student interested in Astronomy, this is a very cool app. It is also a great experience with augmented reality and could be used as a way to spark ideas about other content as well.

This app is another way to access Microsoft Office files from the iPad.

This is an evidence-based app to support speech and occupational therapists as well as special education instructors or parents looking to support their children. It is pricey - $39.99 - but that is less expensive than computer based versions of similar products.

This free graphic calculator can also serve as a Scientific Calculator, has graphing capabilities, offers a unit converter, and can create a table of functions from values entered. It also has a set of references for formulas.

We use VoiceThread in a lot of our EdTechTeacher workshops as it is completely web based and now includes an iPad app. As a tool, it can create digital stories, be used for foreign language exercises, or support the creation of collaborative study aids. This library is a database of articles about successful VoiceThread projects.

This app gives students hands-on experience with the laws of physics. For $.99, it's a very cool app.

While the Google Presentation in this post is intended for working with students who have hearing and visual impairments, some of the apps are valuable for an array of different learners.

This is a cool app for students looking to get rid of their paper planner. It works on an iPad, iPhone, or as a Mac App. For $2.99, students can track assignments, schedules, and projects.

Mirror your iPad to a macbook that is on the same wireless network. This is awesome!  The free version allows for 10 minutes, the pay version is unlimited mirroring. 

How to evaluate iPad apps.

This app, intended as a way for parents to create narrated bedtime stories for their children, could be a great digital storytelling tool for a broader audience. Students can create a movie that incorporates clay-mation figures and their own narration. It's Free and has potential.
