Use this app to make online flashcards that incorporate audio, images, and text.

Another great digital storytelling app, there is a free version as well as an enhanced service. With the free app, you can create and share stories with images and audio straight from your mobile device

Though this version of the app doesn't have as many features, it's free! With an iPhone or iPad, students can create time lapse recordings so as to improve observational skills, document a laboratory, or create a digital story.

Catch is similar to Evernote in that it is an online note taking tool. Now, it has announced a series of mobile apps.

This is a free, interactive textbook about the American Revolution that could be a great supplement to a history course.

This is a great blog post from edSocial Media regarding using apps as sources. As more schools move towards iPad integration programs, this is increasingly going to be a challenge.

Find and sort apps

This app seems to combine the features of Evernote and Livebinders into one spot. It is potentially a great tool for research projects.

I sent this link to Chris Harrow, a colleague who teaches math at The Westminster School in Atlanta. Here are his first impressions: Cool = very smooth functionality on the iPad, you can do all the explorations in the most excellent iPad touchscreen environment, a very tactile approach to learning geometry. Frustrating = you have to create the docs elsewhere, on first exploration, I don't see a way to do constructions directly in this app. If a kid gets a good idea that requires additional "stuff" on the construction, s/he may not be able to instantly follow up on intuition. Any one else want to weigh in?

This site features reviews of apps from Apple Distinguished Educators. In addition to organizing apps by theme, it also presents them by multiple intelligence and Blloom's Taxonomy.

This app, for $4.99, allows students to create their own animations. Though the app has an associated cost, the web version (http://doink.com) is free. Unfortunately, the web version won't run in Safari on the iPad. Cool regardless.

Awesome iPad Apps.

PE teachers are often left out when it comes to technology integration. This is a great article full of suggested apps and links for integrating an iPad into a PE curriculum.

Though intended for the iPhone, this app could work on an iPad. It allows you to quickly and easily create a story by taking pictures. If you have a 3G enabled device, it also will geotag the camera roll. Could be great for field trips.

This is a fantastic web site, especially if you teach a range of learners.

This app allows you to display PowerPoint presentations on your iPad. Could be great for students to use in a setting such as a science fair or history wax museum.

This free app lets you see stars, planets, and constellations. 

This is another online ePub converter. By uploading a Word, PDF, or other text file, you can convert that file to an ePub format for iPad, Kindle, etc.

This is one app that almost fully replicates the online version. The mobile version of VoiceThread leverages the built-in capabilities of the device to easily create new projects.
