On his way to attend the Nobel Peace conference, the Dalai Lama was denied a visa to enter South Africa. This is the third time in five years that South Africa has denied a visa to the Dalai Lama. This coordinates with our lesson as that this article deals with oppression and during apartheid, races were oppressed from various things.

Oscar Pistorius was cleared of the murder of his girlfriend but is still under trial for manslaughter since he believed that there was an intruder in the bathroom. This judgement is likely to be condemned since it will fuel fears that the decision was based on Pistorius's wealth and fame.
