Edutopia blogger Andrew Marcinek describes the versatility of his five favorite iPad apps and makes a case for using them to replace the dreaded back-to-school shopping list.
This is a great app that is very open ended - a bit like magnetic poetry on an iPad. A teacher can send out a "deck" of cards (vocabulary words, for example) and each child can sort them according their own categories.
Story maker where children can draw pictures and record corresponding text for their story. They can also add pictures or stickers. Completed books can be added to a class library and shared with the whole class or with families.
