They used recycled or reused materials that was donated to them for the project. They also used alternatives for materials that arent easily broken down. Materials were used from local manufacturies as appose to shipping from over sees. Subcontracters were assisted to become FSC certified in wood aand they started providing other new hotel projects with these woods.
This is a good way to start on going green from the foundation. although they didnt make it a smoke free envirnoment they used ventalation systems to improve the quality of the air. All projects probably wont be 100% green but something is better than nothing. I think they made a big effort here.
