This study will discusses the impacts of information technology on traditional HR processes in increasing efficiency (e.g., transaction and timeliness), effectiveness (e.g., accuracy, completeness and simplification of process), and new applications (e.g., computer-based training, online recruitment, and self-service HR). HRIS merges traditional human resource management as a discipline and in particular it's basic HR activities and processes with the information technology field. HRIS and HRIS administration comprise a distinct, supporting function within HR.
