This article briefly discusses the alliance that HTNG and HSMAI decided to create in attempt to eliminate the wall that seems to stand between marketing and technology departments in the hospitality industry.

For those who aren't familiar, HTNG stands for Hospitality Technology Next Generation, and is a self-funded nonprofit organization with members from all types of backgrounds. Some members include members from hospitality companies and technology vendors. Members of the group identify problems that currently exist in the hospitality industry, and attempt to come up with a solution to resolve that issue. As for HSMAI, they are the Hospitality Sales and Marketing International.

It was identified that this wall has caused an inability to execute certain plans, as well as prevents companies from expanding their presence on various digital platforms. The workgroup that HTNG and HSMAI has formed is aiming to improve certain key factors, such as businesses' revenue recognition, guest satisfaction, data accuracy, and reductions of defects. These are only a few of the mentioned factors that the new workgroup is focused on improving, but any slight improvement goes a long way.
