The Scholl children were children once apart of the Hitler youth then they (Hans and his sister, Sophie) resisted. They dropped out of the Hitler youth (so did their other siblings: Inge, Elisabeth, Werner and Thilde, but Hans and Sophie got most of the credit for resisting because they sacrificed more for the White Rose) and joined the White Rose, a non-violent/intellectual resistance group.
