Hindustan University are witnessing a string of events chartered for Silver Jubilee Valedictory Programme . On 6th October 2011 the Christian Music Concert struck a chord as a team of gifted singers from abroad performed with sophisticated musical instruments , The team is part of the Campus Crusade, Global Music Band. The main theme of the Music Concert was Gap Theory , it made the audience ponder over the questions mentioned below.

The Department of Mathematics, Hindustan University organized a two-day National Workshop on 'Application of Fuzzy Theory- NWAFT 2011, on 10th and 11th August 2011. Eminent Mathematicians from renowned institutions like GRI, IIT Madras, Loyola College, DBML College and SIVET College were invited as resource persons.

Ms. P. A. Sindhu Nila of 1st year B. Arch of Hindustan University(one of the best chennai engineering colleges) represented Tamil Nadu and participated in Malaysia, Singapore Indians Youth Games 2011 conducted at Malaysia from 27th to 30th August 2011.

Freshers' day celebrations were held pompously in the campus on 22nd September 2011, as Fiesta 2011. Mr. Prashant Thyagrajan was the Chief Guest. Ms Mili Chandy (Mrs. Chennai 2005) was the Guest of Honour.

Engineers' Day was celebrated on 15.09.2011 at Hindustan University. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Director, CVRDE was the Chief Guest . Dr. K. Sarukesi delivered the Welcome Address and he spoke on the role of students to become a successful Engineer.

S.Saravanan M.C.A final year student was selected for internship at NUS Singapore. He was working on the development of a Crawling algorithm for Mining Scholarly Presentations and Documents from the Web. Period of internship was from 1st March 2011 to 12th September 2011. He was working with the Web Information and Natural Language Processing Group (WING) of NUS Singapore. Professor Min Yen Kan of the Department of Computer Science was his guide at NUS Singapore and Professor Anitha S.Pillai was his guide at Hindustan University

First week of September 2011, Hindustan University, Chennai (www.hindustanuniv.ac.in) has taken a significant greener initiative by signing up MoU with Green-CADD, www.green-cadd.com; the Value Added Training Partner (VATP) of CAD-PLAN (www.cad-plan.com);Global German software corporation providing value added software solutions and services to the facade engineering industry for more than two decades.

37TH STATE LEVEL SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP Courtesy: Chennai Engineering Colleges Mr. R.M.Ashwin Kumar, of II 3rd year CSE,HITS won the following medals in the 37th State Level Shooting Championship held at Madras Rifle Club, Chennai from 7th to 11th September 2011.

The 3rd edition of "Innovator 2011" was conducted at Hindustan University (Best Chennai Engineering Colleges) on 25th August 2011. It is a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) college excellence cluster initiative. The students from Hindustan University ,KCG College, Rajalakshmi College and SRM were present for the session.

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) (Best Chennai Engineering Colleges) hosted the Mahindra Auto Quotient 2011 on 24 August 2011 at Hindustan University. The champions of Mahindra Auto Quotient 2010 is all set to clinch the title again in the contest.

Hindustan University won the Cannon Rolling Trophy five a side Inter-Collegiate football Tournament organized by Hindu College at Avadi defeating SRM University 5-2 in the Finals. Around fifteen teams took part in the two day event.

As an initiative to promote and encourage students in sports the management provided a platform for the students of Hindustan University (Best Chennai Engineering Colleges) by organizing Bay Range International Sports Camp (BRISC 2011) for 90 students from 5th to 12th August 2011. The students were trained by 12 international coaches working with Athletes in Action, USA. It was founded in 1966 and their motto is to build on society's great love of sports and utilize the platform given to the athletes.

Garage One 2011 a seminar cum training programme was organized at Hindustan University by Dr. M. Subramanian, HOD and staff members of the Department of Automobile Engineering. It was inaugurated on 11th June 2011 by Mr. Nitin Raina, Vice-President, Metawing Enterprises. The programme was held from 11th June to 25th June 2011.

"Energy - Present and Future from Material Science point of View '' a lecture was conducted by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja , Department of Physics and Material Science Condensed Matter Theory, Uppasala University, Sweden on 02 nd August 2011, 11 a.m at HITS. He gave a lecture on Computational Material Science and density functional theory. He discussed on clean form of Energy - Hydrogen Oxygen Fuel cell and Solid form of hydrogen storage methods using Nano tubes. He also explained about Lead acid batteries and Li- ion batteries. He emphasized Hydrogen as a future form of energy source.

Oracle OCA online exam was conducted on 19.07.11 at Hindustan University successfully for the seventh time. Twenty six students appeared for the exam and twenty two students passed. A Proctor from Oracle University conducted the exam.

The Anti-Ragging Campaign 2011 began at 9.30 a. m on 11th August 2011 at Hindustan University with a prayer. Dr. K .Sarukesi, Vice-Chancellor, HITS welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. C. Sylendra Babu I.P.S , Inspector General of Police, North Zone, Tamil Nadu and also the entire Hindustan fraternity. He also welcomed the students of neighbouring institutions who arrived to participate in the Campaign against ragging.

A training programme on counseling was conducted by professional counsellors from 19th to 26th July 2011 . 150 staff members of Hindustan University participated in this programme. The primary objective of this programme was to strengthen the counseling activities on campus.

International Anti Drug Day rally was organized by Narcotics Intelligence Bureau - Criminal Investigation Department (NIB-CID) , Tamil Nadu Police, on 26th June 2011 against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, titled "Think Health and Not Drugs". NCC, NSS, Red Cross youth wing members of Hindustan University and staff members took part in the rally.

Karate champion Mr. E Gnanasundaram , Lecturer, Hindustan University (Chennai Engineering Colleges) has participated in many World Karate Championships. The Indian spearhead in Common Wealth Games who now trains the Hindustan University Karate Team has proved the supremacy of his team in several national tournaments.
