NSS and YRC Units of KCG College of Technology (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) , Karapakkam, Chennai Organized Blood Donation Camp in association with Y's Men Club of Mylapore and Lions Club of Golden Bharath on March 04, 2011 in the College Campus. 232 units of Blood were Collected from the Student and Staff of the College.

Hindustan University staged their Christmas celebrations with grandeur on 16th December 2011. Hindustan Group of Institutions comprising Hindustan University, Hindustan Institution of Engineering and Technology, KCG College of Technology, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Orient Flight School, National Institution of Management Studies got together to celebrate the festive season and spread the message of Christmas.

18th April 2012 student and staff of Hindustan University were seen gazing at a large banner placed in front of the Building Sciences Block and Department of Automobile Engineering. The banner depicted the history of vehicles that had been manufactured by Mahindra & Mahindra showcasing the heritage of its Automotive and Farm Sector.

The Management, Staff and Students of Hindustan University had the privilege to meet His Excellency, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, when he visited the University Campus as the Chief Guest of the Programme, on 6th January 2011, to deliver the Silver Jubilee Endowment Lecture as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the University.

Chennai Engineering Colleges and especially KCG College of Technology has always been a chivalrous institution. This day saw two events. The first one was a greenathon. The basic motive of this event was to spread awareness. A handful of students went all over Rajiv Ghandi salai Encouraging people to use recycled paper bags instead of plastic bags. They went to restaurants and shops like The Shogun, Amaravathi restaurant, Nalas, SAS, Cafe Coffee Day, Dominoes and more. They got a huge and warm response from everyone.

Chiaroscuro 2011, a Photography and Architecture Symposium was conducted by the School of Architecture, Hindustan University (One of the Best Chennai Engineering Colleges) on 29th March 2011. Ms. Sheeba Chander, HOD , School of Architecture addressed the gathering. Mr.S.Venkatraaman, Ace photographer & Media expert was the Chief Guest. Mr. S. Venkataraaman, spoke about the different types of cameras, lenses and the proper use of the same. He explained in detail the difference between shutter & aperture and that it's the sensor size that matters & not the mega pixels. He firmly believes that it's not the camera that matters but the person behind it.

A Two day National Conference on Communication Networks and Sensor Technology-NCCNS'11 was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering & Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from 18th-19th April 2011 as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science.

Geethu Anna Jose , the first ever Indian Basketball player has been invited to attend the Training conducted by Women's National Basketball Association, Chicago Sky and LA Sparks from 21-24th April 2011. She is the first Indian Player to get this rare and prestigious opportunity . Hindustan University ( one of the best chennai engineering colleges ) has always been rendering their support to the development of sports and true to its spirit Mr. Ashok Verghese , Director of Hindustan University, Chennai, India and President of Hindustan Sports Foundation has expressed his solidarity to sponsor Geethu Anna Jose young icon of Basketball to fulfill her dreams to make history in creating a mark at the international level and bring fame to our nation.

S.Saravanan M.C.A final year student was selected for internship at NUS Singapore. He was working on the development of a Crawling algorithm for Mining Scholarly Presentations and Documents from the Web. Period of internship was from 1st March 2011 to 12th September 2011. He was working with the Web Information and Natural Language Processing Group (WING) of NUS Singapore. Professor Min Yen Kan of the Department of Computer Science was his guide at NUS Singapore and Professor Anitha S.Pillai was his guide at Hindustan University

"Energy - Present and Future from Material Science point of View '' a lecture was conducted by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja , Department of Physics and Material Science Condensed Matter Theory, Uppasala University, Sweden on 02 nd August 2011, 11 a.m at HITS. He gave a lecture on Computational Material Science and density functional theory. He discussed on clean form of Energy - Hydrogen Oxygen Fuel cell and Solid form of hydrogen storage methods using Nano tubes. He also explained about Lead acid batteries and Li- ion batteries. He emphasized Hydrogen as a future form of energy source.

The Valedictory Programme saw the culmination of an yearlong celebration of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Hindustan University. The programme was presided over by the Chancellor, Dr. Elizabeth Verghese.

Hindustan University celebrated ONAM - 'PONNONAM 2012' in all its pomp and glory on Saturday, 25th August 2012. The function was inaugurated by the famous music director and playback singer, Sri Sarath, in the presence of the Management, the Vice Chancellor, Directors, Deans, faculty members and the students of the University. The special guests of the function were the children of the New Life Vision Orphanage, Chennai.

15th of October 2010 was marked as a memorable day of the Freshers' at Hindustan University. The day was aptly christened as 'Fiesta 2010 a marvelous feast indeed! KCG College of Technology (KC Tech) was established in 1998 and is affiliated to the Anna University and also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi and Government of Tamil Nadu.
