Just as the title says, this article explains that those individuals who use tablets are often more educated, wealthier, and more interested in the news than the average American.

Logical Choice Technologies has released an update to Letters Alive, an augmented reality education app for kindergarten and preschool. Letters Alive is a reading curriculum for preschool and kindergarten (and grades 1 through 5 for remediation and ESL) that consists of augmented reality-infused animal cards, augmented reality-infused word cards, software, teacher resources, and student activity sheets.

This is incredible. They REALLY took the AR capabilities and built out a robust curriculum. They didn't just stop with what I have seen as a "typical" use of AR (making the image or the letter appear as 3D objects), rather, they made the cards interactive and educational with sounds, changing color, sentence structure, punctuation, etc. Incredible!

Interesting, real-time, questions about the topics we are covering in T561. Illuminates some of the key pieces (and challenges there within) of the scaling process... This is Microsoft's updated take on what the future looks like with augmented reality. It seems to be an update on the video Chris Dede showed us at the beginning of the semester. Similar, but more reflective of the current zeitgeist.

Online learning provider Virtual College worked with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Bradford to raise important issues regarding prejudice and discrimination in the workplace."

One of nations best University systems, University of California, is about to start its first group of fully online courses for undergraduates. At the same time, the California State Universities (CSU) starting its computer-based options for its 412,000 students. Currently, there are master's degrees in 63 disciplines entirely online. Some educators are skeptical and raise concern on cheating and of "walmartaization" of CSU education.

"Spanish-language resources will be publicly launched in the coming months, to create what will be the largest online learning disabilities resource nationwide."

Xbox Kinect TV plans to bring interactive, immersive experiences to live action television and children's books with the help of National Geographic and Sesame Street's Workshop. Xbox is unveiling a sharp idea for the next generation of television: interactive, live-action content, produced in partnership Sesame Workshop and National Geographic. I was actually working at Sesame when this idea was first introduced. Many were skeptical but I'm glad to see they are going to try and utilize this technological movement forward.
