Interesting article about a new wrinkle in the ongoing patent war between Samsung and Apple -> using Qualcomm's licensing to Apple as a shield for patent protection from Samsung.

just the latest developments in flexible display technologies that are coming. Looks like Samsung and Nokia are already demonstrating their implementations at trade shows, and we may begin seeing these as early as 2012

Hm...so Samsung invested in smart whiteboard and tablet technology in a Memphis school as part of their "market research" into the US education market. I'm not sure if this is a good thing? Hopefully the teachers at this school got some sort of professional development on how to use this technology with good pedagogy, and aren't just going to use the technology in the traditional ways...

First folding screen phones could come out this year, meaning lighter weight flexible size devices that could fold from phone to tablet easily.

I wonder how well it will cover the gap between tablet and laptop.

What is lost and gained when schools save money by purchasing netbooks rather than laptops?

Was just going to post this also. The Acer mentioned though is one of the absolute cheapest notebooks one can get. Not sure that it was the best comparison. There are some netbooks that have amazing battery life (8+ hours) in the sub $350 range. If the article's point is about resource intensive apps like video, it should also clearly point out that the acer's battery will die out well before a similarly priced netbook from samsung.
