Haleon Invests $43M+ To Enhance Health & Safety Standards - 0 views

    Haleon is enhancing its research and development (R&D) capabilities and accelerating its new product innovation pipeline with a $54 million (£43.49 million) investment in its global R&D centre of excellence in Richmond, Virginia, USA. This investment is in addition to the company's annual R&D budget of approximately £300 million. The Richmond site, one of Haleon's three global R&D centres of excellence, alongside facilities in Weybridge, UK, and Suzhou, China, provides the global scale necessary for the company to deliver disruptive and locally relevant brand innovations across over 170 markets worldwide. The upgraded facility will feature new, state-of-the-art laboratories designed to enable development of innovations across ingredients, formulations, flavours, formats and packaging for Haleon's Over-the-Counter (OTC) and Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) categories. Franck Riot, Haleon's chief R&D officer, emphasised the critical role of R&D in the company's success, stating, "R&D is the cornerstone of our business and the innovation engine behind our category-leading brands."     Indian pharmaceutical company Glenmark Life Sciences (GLS) has rebranded as Alivus Life Sciences, following its acquisition by consumer goods holding conglomerate Nirma Limited. It is a leading developer and manufacturer of select, high-value, non-commoditized, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in chronic therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular disease, central nervous system disease, pain management and diabetes. In March 2024, Nirma Limited, headquartered in Ahmedabad, India, acquired a 75 per cent majority stake in Glenmark Life Sciences, becoming the new promoter of the company. The pharmaceutical company has described the rebranding to Alivus Life Sciences as "an exciting new chapter" in its journey. In a press release, the company explained: "The change is reflective of the company's evolving vision aimed at further strengthening its global presence and a commitment to providing innovative solutions in the API and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) space.

Pickfords Pharmacy:3 independent pharmacy businesses rebrand - 0 views

    A group of 21 community pharmacies in the Midlands and Yorkshire will have a new name - Pickfords Pharmacy. The group has been created by combining three independent pharmacy businesses which traded as Mr Pickford's, McGills Pharmacy and D&R Sharp. All pharmacies in the new group will be rebranded over the coming months, with a series of launch events planned by local teams. Speaking after the unveiling of the first branch to receive new signage in Hexthorpe Doncaster, Mimi Lau, Pickfords Pharmacy's chief operating officer, said: "This is a turning point for the group, with all our pharmacies operating under one name with a consistent, contemporary brand. "Initial reaction has been fantastic and very soon the name Pickfords Pharmacy will be widely recognised for the great service we deliver to customers and patients every day." Speaking of the consolidation, Nick Yarrow, the newly appointed group chief executive officer, commented: "Since the enlarged group came together last year, we have been striving to ensure that the best elements of each business have been retained for the benefit of our customers and team members. "This is part of our journey to be more than just a pharmacy - we want to be a trusted source of healthcare services at the heart of each one of the communities we serve".
