It is a powerful diagnostic tool for minimally invasive and nonionizing method for tissue imaging. NIR are not absorbed well by the blood or water, which are the main components of tissues, thus increases the changes of illumination for internal structures. It is advantageous over other techniques since it provides better resolution and is less harmless to patients.
