Genomics refers to the study of genetics, which covers how a single gene affects a particular disease to the entire genome. A human genome consists of all the genetic information that makes up a particular individual, which has resulted in many important advances in medicine and in helping scientists understand the genetic makeup of the human body and the environment in which the cells grow and multiply.
