Meeting dispensing needs and how to support GP surgeries - 0 views

  •
Despite being relatively new to the dispensing doctor market as a short-liner, Bestway Medhub is seeing exponential growth in the market in addition to the 3,500 independent pharmacies that we service and deliver to. We have however been servicing the dispensing doctor market for well over 40 years through our dispensing appliance contractor (DAC) Wardles. Wardles service and supply more than 55% of all dispensing sites with dressings, bandages, appliances, ostomy, wound care and hosiery. Graham Burford-Row To meet the needs of dispensing practices and surgeries we carry a large range of more than 10,000 Generics, PI's and OTC products. We offer net pricing so the practice can see straight away what price they are paying for their products - with no hidden fees. We offer all our practices 24-hour online ordering via our Bestway Medhub ordering portal and our recently launched Wardles FP Portal. Additionally, we have the backup of a telesales department with personal service from myself and a dedicated Internal Dispensing Dr Account Manager. We offer daily, weekly or monthly calls to those customers wishing to hear our special offers. Our deliveries are done daily via our third party full-line logistics partner for efficient deliveries, which no other short-line wholesaler offers. Bestway Medhub understands that dispensing practices are not only in the business of offering superior care to their patients and community, but they also offer numerous other services like clinics, nursing and referrals. By enabling practices to cost save, the funds could be used elsewhere instead.

Shoulder Pain Brief Guide : When to See a Doctor - 0 views

  •
Shoulder pain is one of the most common types of pain that impacts your mobility and daily activities. Often associated with heart disease, shoulder pain can also occur due to an injury, trauma, or a medical condition like arthritis. While over-the-counter medications might help relieve the pain, it is crucial to address the cause of the pain becoming frequent. In this guide, we will be sharing particular situations that require a visit to an orthopedic doctor so you can get the appropriate treatment. AFTER AN ACCIDENT Minor injuries and accidents can cause inflammation and pain at the injury site which can be resolved by taking OTC medications and giving the body time to heal. However, in severe injuries, the joint may get swollen in an instant, cause extreme pain, or may seem deformed. In situations like these, there is a likelihood of a fracture and the injury then needs to be evaluated by a specialist. Depending on the severity of the accident, either the shoulder will be immobilized or operated on to repair the damage. If you have a broken shoulder, get plenty of rest, eat healthily, and follow your doctor's instructions for a quick recovery.

Empowering Self-Care: A Healthcare Revolution - 0 views

  •
Over the last few years, we've seen the aftermath of Covid-19, with the demand for consumer health products being unprecedented and unpredictable, placing pressure on supply chains and labour market. In turn, the industry has experienced acute shortages across the healthcare sector, placing huge pressure on pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Europe has an estimated shortage of around 50,000 public-sector doctors[1], which is set to increase in the coming years. While this shortage stems from several complex problems, there is a hidden force that could play a key part in helping to alleviate this burden. That force is the potential of self-care. Encouragingly, last month the UK government recognised the unique role that self-care can play through the introduction of its Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care. Through this, it has pledged to empower patients to manage their own health through several commitments, including improving accessibility to online tools and reclassifying medicines to make formerly prescribed options available over the counter.

UK Government Empowers Medical Associates in NHS Transformation - 0 views

  •
The UK government will lay legislation today (13 December 2023) to allow the General Medical Council (GMC) to begin the process of regulating medical associates to expand their roles in the NHS. This will support plans to reduce pressure on doctors and GPs and improve access for patients, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said. Physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) will have the same levels of regulatory oversight and accountability as doctors and other regulated healthcare professionals once the regulations come into force, which is expected at the end of 2024. The GMC will design and deliver detailed regulatory processes for registration, education, standards and fitness to practise for both professions.

4 Important Post-Operative Advice You Should Follow - 0 views

  •
After you've had surgery, it's normal to feel a little anxious about the recovery process. But there are some things you can do to help make sure everything goes smoothly. Here are four important pieces of postoperative advice that will help you heal quickly and avoid any complications. Follow these tips and you'll be on your way to a full recovery in no time. FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR'S ORDERS No matter how minor the operation, following your doctor's orders after surgery is essential to a speedy and successful recovery. Doing the right things like following a balanced diet, taking the recommended amount of medications, and avoiding strenuous activity can help minimize complications, reduce pain, and speed up healing. Furthermore, consistent follow-up visits with your doctor and timely scheduling of any necessary tests ensure that any post-operative problems are addressed in their early stages when they are easiest to treat. The people behind www.alamoplasticsurgery.com note that failing to take your doctor's instructions seriously can have a significant impact on your overall recovery time, jeopardize the long-term outcome of your treatment, or even lead to additional procedures. To ensure you make the most out of your surgery experience - listen to what your doctor has to say! GET PLENTY OF REST Getting a full night's rest after the surgery is key to a successful recovery. During recovery, your body is working overtime to heal and repair itself, so by getting plenty of rest, you'll give it the best opportunity to do this. Not only that - research has shown that getting lots of sleep may help support important bodily functions related to healing such as immune response and inflammation control. Listen to your doctor's advice post-surgery and make sure you get enough sleep - providing your body with the downtime it needs will ultimately speed up the healing process and help ensure you get back on your feet soon. When it comes to recovering from surgery,

Superdrug unveils its new fertility test service - 0 views

  •
Superdrug has unveiled its new fertility test service to help women to easily access information about their own fertility and enables them to take greater control of their reproductive health. The service comprises a Superdrug online doctor consultation and personalised fertility test recommendations to help women make more informed decisions about the options available to them. Superdrug's fertility test initial consultation requires customers to fill out a quick online questionnaire. This is then reviewed by Superdrug's team of online doctors, who will work with the patients to identify which fertility tests are best suited to the individual. The new service also sees Superdrug introduce three new fertility blood tests to its portfolio, ensuring greater choice and accessibility. Dr Sara Kayat, Superdrug's medical ambassador comments, "For women that have been trying to get pregnant and not succeeding, or for those who are just curious about their fertility, easy access to blood tests may help provide answers and signpost them in the right direction."

Junior Doctors 6-Day Strike: NHS Faces Unprecedented Challenge - 0 views

  •
In what could be the longest consecutive strike action ever taken in the history of the National Health Service (NHS), junior doctors are set to begin their six-day walkout from tomorrow (Wednesday 3 January) at 7am, until 7am on Tuesday 9 January. As the record industrial action has come in the middle of growing winter pressures, the NHS England has warned that this week could be one of "the most difficult starts to the year" for health services across the country. With consultant busy covering urgent and emergency cases, the strikes could have a significant impact on almost all routine care. NHS National Medical Director, Professor Stephen Powis said: "This January could be one of the most difficult starts to the year the NHS has ever faced.

NHS Staff Absences: Labour & Nuffield Health Partnership Targets Joint Pain - 0 views

  •
"Record long NHS waits are forcing huge numbers of people out of work, including doctors and nurses," said Wes Streeting MP, Labour's Shadow Health and Social Care Secretary as Labour announced a new partnership with Nuffield Health today to tackle joint pain issues among NHS staff and reducing waiting lists. Musculoskeletal problems, including back, knee, hip, and neck pain, are the second leading cause of NHS staff absences, surpassed only by mental health issues. In December 2023 alone, NHS workers missed a record 198,000 days due to these issues, marking a 13 per cent increase from the 174,000 days recorded in December 2019. Nurses and health visitors accounted for 52,000 of these days, up from 47,000 pre-pandemic, while doctors took 3,500 days off, a 9 per cent increase from 2019. The partnership with Nuffield Health will provide up to 4,000 extra places for NHS staff in Nuffield Health's Joint Pain Programme at no cost.

The US under the Ob ama Administration stimulus programs is awarding $42,000 to doctors that implement an EHR system. Americans in general and American medicine in particular is very hi-tech oriented indeed. In some countries like the US, you can sell technology on its merits, while in others you sell it on entirely different criteria, and Sweden belongs in that latter category.
