Rose is aptly called as the masterpiece of all flowers as they have a strong personality of their own and are able to bring out positive and happy feelings in people. The beauty of a rose mesmerizes people and leaves a lasting impression in their hearts. There are around 24 color varieties of rose and each color symbolizes specific emotions associated with it. There are more than 150 species of roses and hybrids with varied shapes. Roses tend to grow more vigorously in the greenhouse than in open farms and can flower up to three times a year. Undisturbed by wind and rain, the leaves can be clean and healthy and the blooms perfect. The average growing temperature and the temperature strategy influences the growth, development of roses, and burning of sawdust during winter months in the early morning increases the yield. Growers following the greenhouse environmental conditions can use specific models to adjust the production time so as to be able to meet specific demand periods. Depending on the species and varieties, roses may be used as cut flowers, and used in making rose oil, rose water, perfumes, cosmetics, and gulkhand sweet. Measured in terms of volume of trade in the international market cut roses rank first in popularity. Production of cut roses in greenhouses has been increasing over the last few years due to availability of advanced environmental control possibility and demand from overseas markets. The overall profitability of a rose greenhouse farm depends upon the quality of roses produced and best returns are obtained when the fresh roses are air shipped to foreign markets to be used in perfumeries and cosmetics industries.

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from improperly disposed inhalers, patients are being encouraged to return their used or expired inhalers to designated community pharmacies. A community pharmacy initiative in NHS Lothian has resulted in an impressive 300 per cent surge in the number of inhalers returned to community pharmacies for sustainable disposal. The initiative involved placing stickers on dispensing bags, encouraging patients to bring back their used inhalers to the pharmacy. Between February and May 2024, five community pharmacies in and around Edinburgh participated in this sustainability project and provided data. The data showed a significant increase in inhaler returns, with 20 inhalers being returned in the two weeks before the stickers were introduced, compared to 80 in the two weeks after the project concluded-a 300 per cent increase over the 10-week period.
