  Unless your doctor tells you to change something, keep taking your diabetes medications. I recommend checking out the article managing type 1 diabetes when you're sick. You must keep taking insulin when you're sick, even if you're not eating as much as usual. That's because your liver releases glucose into your bloodstream - even when you're stuck on the couch - so you always need insulin.
