Cool Graphing | MrNussbaum.com - 0 views

  •
Graph Master is a one-of-a-kind program that allows students to create four different interacive, printable graphs on one screen based on data collected in a survey or poll of their classmates. What makes Graph Master so useful, however, is the fact that after students make their graphs, the program asks them eight multiple choice questions about their graphs using the inputted data and checks them for accuracy.

This seems like an easy assessment resource that might be good to use w/class sets of iPads.  Teachers can set up their answer sheet on the website, and then students enter a code and take the test on the iPad.  They can even use a work space to solve problems if needed.

Measuring - 0 views

SOL:  Measurement - Meet Jack the builder.  He lives in a country that only uses the Metric System.  Can your students help Jack?  He gets terribly confused with measuring.  Begin with a discussion on the metric "Unit of Measurement" to help students understand the terminology.  When this is complete, students help Jack read the actual measurements in the activity.   Be careful though, this site uses the French language spelling since it is from Canada.

Infogram is an amazing new web tool for creating infographics quickly and easily. The tool is very simple to use and offers a whole host of unique WYSIWYG editing options from dragging content around to in-tool data table formatting. This is sure to be a popular site as inforgraphics continue to grow in popularity. The site is free, robust, and going to be getting some more customized features and more templates soon. Looks like a great place for teachers and students to play with the art of visual explanation.
