Basic curriculum one...may be overlooked because everyone uses it, but it is still important and we couldn't unit plan without it! http://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/cur/index.html
I student taught here and I found the website very helpful especially with adding the Aboriginal perspective to teaching. Erickson has a wonderful cultural component to it and a room that is devoted to Aboriginal cultural studies, this website shares a bit of that information. http://www.rrsd.mb.ca/schools/erickson_collegiate/index.html
I also used this website often as I taught the Social Studies unit in Grade 2 on Churchill. It adds an interactive component for the students as well as a wealth of information. It's the towns official website that supplies the viewer with stats, facts, and positive attributes that are specific for the community. http://www.townofchurchill.ca/
This is a thorough look at a multitude of teaching strategies that can be used in the classroom. It is a website from New Horizon's for Learners. It shows strategies for every kind of learner. http://www.newhorizons.org/strategies/front_strategies.html
I found this website as I was searching for ideas for lesson and unit plans. It is an excellent resource for first year teachers it gives ideas for planning, assessment, and much more. http://www.starlasteachtips.com/
This last one is called fun school and it is exactly that, a fun way to learn and think about school. It makes learning interactive, fun, and a game to students. The animation, games, and television like component will make it easily accessible for students and yet drive them to learn more as they will think of it as merely having fun…not learning! http://funschool.kaboose.com/
