The annual award can be used to cover the cost of study, research and/or travel in any field. The fellowship results in editorials and other writings, including books.

Recorded Books will publish audiobooks of the 2011 National Book Awards winners in three categories: fiction winner Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward (February 28), nonfiction winner The Swerve by Stephen Greenblatt (which released earlier this year), and young people's literature winner Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai (April 15).

Now you can get badges for reading Google News. The company is offering a variety of 500 different emblems, each one for a particular topic. As you become more well-read, you'll get a star added to the badge for that topic. There are five different levels of the stars, starting with a bronze star, and as you read more articles you receive a silver, gold, platinum and the coveted blue ultimate star.
