  • Announcements are messages to learners that appear on the home page of your course, and may also be sent via email. You can add and edit announcements through Section Manager, and use publishing statuses and visible dates to stage announcements and associated emails from release to learners.
  • If you would like to email all learners in your course without posting an associated announcement to the course home page, you may use the "Send Emails" tool, accessed directly from the top admin navigation bar. This tool may also be used to send external survey links to learners; for more information, see the "Student surveys" topic in this section
  • Emails cannot be staged for future release - any messages sent through the "Send Emails" tool will be sent to learners immediately. We recommend sending a test email to your own account before releasing the email to all learners in the course.

  • Adding announcementsAn announcement is a message to students that appears on the home page of your course (the page that students see immediately upon clicking "Go to class"). Each announcement may or may not be accompanied by a direct email sent to students containing the announcement text.   You can use the Section Manager interface to create announcements, group announcements logically with related course content, and queue announcements to be posted (and emails to be sent, if applicable) at a future date.

little progress: time codes are now indicated some have playing videos
  • not an appropriate platform for translating subtitles
  • illogically split, absurdly punctuated, and at times, whole chunks of the audio are left untranscribed.

  • move subtitle translating to an appropriate platform
  • the only recognition list that makes any sense is the one of Russian translators in the Leaderboards page here, where each name links to its public ABBYY profile, which explains about qualifications and links to translations done.
  • Transcripts must include onscreen texts that have to be translated. Before syncing transcripts into subtitles by voice recognition:transcripts must be split logically, preferably in < ca 80 characters units separated by a blank lineeach unit > ca 40 characters  should be split into two sub-units by a line break, preferably midways, but always give priority to logic over character count.
