Remida is a place that promotes the idea that waste materials can be resources. The Centre collects, displays, and distributes alternative and reclaimed materials obtained from the unsold stock and scrap materials of industrial production, with the aim to reinvent their use and meaning.
The Cleaner Greener Schools accreditation provides opportunities for students, teachers, leadership teams and/or principal teams to follow an action plan that targets areas such as LITTER, WASTE, ENERGY, WATER and BIODIVERSITY. It will allow participants to be involved in a range of initiatives generating educational experiences and social awareness.
All connected classrooms programs must be booked through the Connections Website. To book you need to register on the Dart Connections Website. A video on how to use the site can be found here. A FAQ page is available on the Connections website relating to all bookings and use of the site.
Although I am not currently working as a Teacher-Librarian, the libraries I have spent time in would need a significant budget upgrade to get their hands on these wonderful resources. Most do not have a single tablet or ipad for students access. But it never hurts to think big, so here is my list of dream resources....

A List of Book-Related Special Days for Kids by Susan Stephenson, www.thebookchook.com I know my Teacher Librarian friends look for one list of special days worthy of celebration in the library, or indeed across the school. I know many parents who love to celebrate book-related days as a way of constantly keeping the family focus on books.
A program which encourages and supports students to walk or wheel to school on Wednesdays, and partake and participate in a "walking school bus" with volunteer adult supervision.
