The European Commission has given the UK Government the go ahead to offer EDF a guaranteed price per unit of electricity generated for a 35-year period for the purpose of incentivising investment. Ever since it was first proposed in October 2013, the proposed deal between the UK government and French nuclear power company EDF for the financing of a new nuclear plant has courted controversy.

Canada-based Nuytco Research's Exosuit, which enables deep-water diving without the need for risky decompression, could make subsea construction safer and cheaper for offshore oil and gas companies. Pacific NorthWest liquefied natural gas (LNG) project is a new natural gas liquefaction and export facility proposed to be constructed in Lelu Island near the Port of Prince Rupert, British Columbia (BC). The project is operated by Pacific NorthWest LNG, a consortium comprised of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas 62%), Japan Petroleum Exploration Company (JAPEX 10%), PetroleumBRUNEI (3%), Indian Oil Corporation (10%) and China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec 15%).

The 6,000MW Zaporizhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), located in Energodar in the south-eastern part of Ukraine, is the biggest nuclear power plant in Europe and the fifth biggest in the world. US Senators have introduced legislation that directs the executive branch to disclose which companies it allows to share nuclear information with countries looking to build nuclear reactors.
