Queensland Resources Councils attempt to blame 'mother nature' for the decline in coral cover in the Great Barrier Reef rather than man made impacts. The aim of this advertisement is clearly to make viewers feel more comfortable with dredging and to undermine the horrible impact that this will have on the GRB. The QRC gives the impression that they are 'caring' for the Reef and uneducated viewers may fall for this Reef Facts campaign.

"According to a poll by some dudes, 2/3rds of surveyed Australians believe dredging in the Great Barrier Reef is a really really really shockingly poor idea. Alas, the Abbott Government is determined to make it happen anyway. "

This sums things up pretty well. Such a shame one of our great treasures is in such danger.
