Israel bombing, Libyan intervention: Signs of WWIII? - 0 views

Okay, so what i like about this site is that it isnt that long, its alot of oppoions, and its pretty easy to read and understand. Alot of websites have been having huge words i really dont get. This one also ask alot of question both sided. It gives you differnent feelins of whats really happening over there. It also has some strong quotes. Such as... an organization dedicated to peace argued "the US should remain involved in democracy promotion and human rights, but not in violent conflict. " and in some ways i really agree with that. We should not have to be the first ones to start a war or be the first to bomb. Let another country deal with it first, we are still in a war with iraq. No need to start two of them. There are also some really good taggs on this sitee.

Libya Oil Cut-Downs - 0 views

No need for U.S. to be involved in Libya's mess - Tuesday, March 22, 2011 | 2:03 a.m. -... - 0 views

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: No need for U.S. to be involved in Libya's mess Robert Kaye, Las Vegas Tuesday, March 22, 2011 | 2:03 a.m. Here we go again. The United States once again feels it has to get involved in the internal politics of another nation that poses no threat to us. How many more U.S. soldiers must get killed or scarred by getting involved in conflicts we have no need to be involved with? I am surprised to see the "peace" president get involved with this mess in Libya. It is time for the United States to focus on its own internal problems and only get involved in conflicts when it affects our national security. We are not the police of the world. I hope the "peace" president, who has had nothing but war during his term, is listening. Let the Libyans solve their own crisis.

Rather than taking out air defences, you can say that 'if your air defence radar locks on to any of our aircraft, we regard that as a hostile act and we would take subsequent action'. In a desperate attempt to try and halt Libya 's advancing military and reverse the realities on the ground, where armed rebels are being crushed by pro - government forces , the UN Security Council on Thursday, in a 10- 0 vote ( with abstentions from Russia, China, India , Germany and Brazil ) , paved the way for military action against Libya , beyond the imposition of a no - fly zone .The resolution authorises UN member states ( read Western war hawks, currently teetering on the brink of financial ruin) to take "all necessary measures ... to protect civilians and civilian populated areas … while excluding a foreign occupation force of any form on any part of Libyan territory. " Using military force, from the air and the sea , with no ground troops to take and hold territory, will lead to large -scale loss of life and destruction of property. But the destruction of a country's physical infrastructure, especially in places like Libya which have huge oil reserves that can pay any bills, is the key objective of the Western war enterprise, as it guarantees them reconstruction jobs. That is why theynever intervene in poor countries. The imperialist Western war hawks salivating to plunder Libyan oil are framing their arguments in terms of what Catholic theology calls Just War Doctrine , arguing deceitfully that it is a moral imperative on the "international community" (read themselves) to institute a democracy and secure human rights by destroying Libya like they did Iraq. But can plunder , murder and general destruction by anybody serve a higher good ? The Libyan rebels lost it when they abandoned the script of non -violence that had worked so well in Tunisia and Egypt . Their decision to take up arms at the initial stage of the "popular " uprising , clothed in thousands of newly printed opposition flags that betray a manufactured spontaneity, can only mean one thing : that these externally anchored formations did critical numbers of dissatisfied Libyan
