Auguste Rodin Google Doodle "The Thinker" - 0 views

    Google honored the French Sculptor Auguste Rodin by showing Doodle on 12th November 2012. Google has integrated Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker" sculpture into its homepage logo for 172nd birthday of Auguste Rodin. Auguste Rodin was born on 12th November 1840 in Paris. His full name is François-Auguste-René Rodin Although Rodin is generally considered the progenitor of modern sculpture, he did not set out to rebel against the past. Auguste Rodin "The Thinker" (1879--1889) is among the most recognized works in all of sculpture. Google Doodle is representing the "The Thinker" only. "The Thinker" (Le Penseur in French) is a bronze and marble sculpture, it is now in the Musée Rodin in Paris. It depicts a man in sober meditation battling with a powerful internal struggle. It is often used to represent philosophy.
