Global Project and Resources

These amazing teachers have created a number of different and fascinating global projects. There is "A Week in the Life" for elementary aged children, "Digiteen" for middle school students (we had a GW TLPer participate last year) and "Flat Classroom Project" for high schoolers.

Now in its fifth year, KC3 challenges high school and middle school students, and has now expanded to include elementary teams, who will research, develop, and present community content through various technologies and connect with classes world-wide through videoconferencing.

The Global Nomads Group (GNG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to heightening children's understanding and appreciation for the world and its people. Using interactive technologies such as videoconferencing, GNG brings young people together face-to-face to meet across cultural and national boundaries to discuss their differences & similarities, and the world issues that affect them. ** we have a TLP grad that is running a project where students are matched with students in Afghanistan. they will have a live teleconference 5 times over the year - really amazing stuff!**

Welcome to QuadBlogging 2011 - 2012 We are poised to launch the new round of QuadBlogging to start in September 2011. If you don't know what QuadBlogging is, here's a short video produced by pupils in Mrs.

Huge Social Learning Network. Loads of projects already listed that you can join or you can propose a project and look for a partner school. ePals also offers its own email that is monitored. ePals also has some associations with the Smithsonian.

Projects are a way for teachers to find partner classes, partner teachers or guest speakers for a specific learning activity. You can create your own project or find one where your help is needed. Use the directory to find like-minded teachers all over the world.

Although the conference is over, there are links to the recorded sessions. I have attended or listened to about 7 already and they are all interesting in one way or the other. You can also join the Global Education Collaborative - lots of discussion groups and other resources.

I have been lucky enough to get involved with this project. This is a great resources for finding out about global projects happening all over the world. One TLP people from 2011-2012 proposed a project through the site and had a great experience

similar to Global Engage but in the wiki format.

Similar to Flat Stanley, students send a teddy bear or other soft toy around the world and track its progress!

Looks like a great inter-disciplinary and mutlicultural project!
