    "El Carnaval de Ponce es el más antiguo de la isla. Se baila al rítmo de bomba y plena hasta media noche en los alrrededores de la Plaza Delicias en dicho pueblo (al sur de la isla). Los vejigantes son representantes del mal ,del demonio y de los moros. Con caretas con muchos cuernos y colores, trajes de colores brillantes y cascabeles, vejigas de vaca o cerdo pintadas (usan para azotar a las personas) recorren las calles del pueblo cantando y bailando. Esta tradición es influenciada por nuestro origen español-africano."
