Effectief of efficiënt werken?Er is een evident verschil. Effectiviteit impliceert doelmatigheid. Met zo min mogelijk inspanning en dus met zo min mogelijk gebruik van tijd, inzet en middelen een zo groot mogelijk gewenst effect in de richting van de doelstelling bereiken.  Over efficiënt wordt gesproken wanneer een proces goed verloopt. Efficiënt gaat over processen. Effectief gaat over doelmatigheid. Om een voorbeeld te geven: het is efficiënt om een vervelende boodschap per e-mail te versturen. Een druk op de knop en klaar ben je. Het is daarmee niet effectief. Even bij iemand langslopen om vis à vis met de juiste aandacht een vervelende boodschap te bespreken is niet efficiënt maar wel effectief. Het meest optimaal is om effectief en efficiënt met elkaar te combineren. Maar dat is niet altijd mogelijk, blijkens voornoemd voorbeeld.
