The University of Florida Digital Collections (UFDC) is a research tool that enables a user to find unique and rare digitized materials held at the University of Florida (UF) and partner institutions. With UFDC, remote and local reserarchers can learn about holdings in a physical collection and receive open access to the online full content of the resource. This is a constantly growing collection of resources. The UFDC offers at least thirty collections grouped into several major headings including: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Science and Technology; Maps; Florida; and World. In addition, the UFDC links to external collections through the Publication of Archival Library Museum Materials.

This set is a selection of images representing the work of the Florida Folklife Program. Created by Florida folklorists, the Florida Folklife Collection of the State Library and Archives of Florida consists of 88 individual series that document the performances by, interviews with, and fieldwork surveys of folk musicians, artisans, storytellers, folklife interpreters, and other Florida peoples and their traditions.

Included here are excerpts of films from the State Archives of Florida's film and video collection. The collection contains approximately 7,000 movies and video tapes. Short clips from some of these moving images have been placed on Flickr Commons.

These images, selected from the State Library and Archives of Florida's Photographic Collection, date from 1896 to 2005, showing the devastation, tragedy, and triumphs of spirit the state has experienced after enduring so many storms. More than 450 recorded tropical storms and hurricanes have reached Florida's shores since European exploration began.
