This was a very informative website about tectonic plates. It talked about where plates are found and boundaries made by these plates.

This was a very good article about the movements of tectonic plates. One of the most interesting facts that I had learned from reading the article was that the tectonic plates make up earths outer shell called the lithosphere. There were also many different things that I didn't know about such as that if the plates keep diverging in the Great Rift Valley in Africa, millions of years from now, eastern Africa will split apart from the continent creating a new continent. the three different types of Tectonic Boundaries are called convergent, divergent, and transform.

This website is very thorough in examining the causes and effects of climate change. The website stated that temperatures have risen up to 2 degrees across the entire planet, causing natural disasters, poor air quality, and destruction of wildlife and habitat. Although climate change is natural and there has been 7 glacial retreats in the last 650,000 years, the recent temperatures are off the charts and carbon dioxide levels are higher than they have ever been, showing it is linked to human oil consumption. Global temperatures, sea level rise, shrinking ice sheets, warming ocean waters, glacial retreats, and extreme events are all signs of the global warming that is plaguing the planet. This website confirmed my original point-of-view on the global warming issue because it showed how this is uncommon for previous climate changes and how the warming can create natural disasters.

This is a very helpful website with the information about the climate and carbon levels in the top bar of the website.

This website is very interesting. It shows a map and when you click on a region it explains in detail how the climate change in that region has changed.

This is about the climate change that has happened in the USA I the pasted years. This is a government website and it is amazing.

I thnk this website is really good because of the regional map. When you click on an area it shows you how much global warming has really affected it in the past years. If enough peopl in the world look at it ( randomly ), it could help us cut back on harmful products.

This has good information about the tectonic plates, but it is very long. I also like it when I can see the part of the world the commentator is talking about. 1/2 of the time this part is on the other side of the world than the techtonic plate that is moving around.

It is really interesting how the tectonics plates are moving constantly and it clearly describes the Pangea thory

Good Dino site

Evan, this was a very good site to learn about brontosaurus or apatosaurus. Apatosaurus have a small head which concludes that they have a small brain, and aren't the most intelligent species that had lived during their time. They had a long tail which acted as a counterbalanced to its very long neck. It also was a tool of protection from other predatorsYet the extremely long neck had advantages for a herbavore who would be constantly attacked by hungry predators. The apatosaurus was a very tall sauropod, which was taller than the allosaurus, which was a predator of the time. The allosaurus is not tall enough to try and snap at the head of the dinosaur, and it wouldn't be smart to get near a whip like like tail such as the apatosaurus's. It had a bulky body and ate rocks to help the digestion of its food.An interesting fact that i had learned was that their nostrils were located on the top of their head, but it couldn't be used as a snorkeling device because the apatosaurus lived on land and not near many big masses of water. I had peg like teeth, which resembling ones of a lizard today, and had four legs.

This website was very useful in talking about the apatosaurus. The apatosaurus was a plant eater (herbivore). This dinosaur had a small head and walked on four legs. The apatosaurus was one of the biggest land animals.

This website gives the statistical facts about global warming, such as carbon dioxide facts and all time highs. This article is highly fact based, explaining statistics as well. It also speaks of the U.S. and its increased temperatures in 2011.

Wikipedia had useful information which will be helpful in the future, when we reach it in class.

The website tells about igneous rocks and how it's formed and where it's found

I learned that hypabyssal rock forms under the surface of the Earth's crust.

Igneous rock is one of the 3 main rock types and Ignis means fire in Latin.

Dinosaur ridge is a cool place to get to get. Involved with what fossils look like and how a cool mark that the divisors lift dose not have to be bones it can also be foot prints.

I found this sight Extremely helpful. I really enjoyed they extra information about dinosaur preservation. I never new there were so many cool things in my backyard.

Dinosaur Ridge holds evidence to the past creatures that lived in Colorado. while the Alameda Parkway was being constructed so local citizens and visitors from other places could come and visit the beutiful rock formations of red rocks, tons of dinosaur footprints were found, mostly ones of the iguanadon. In dinosaur Ridge, widley know dinosaurs were found such as the fossils of the allosaurus. The allosaurus is a predator to sauropods.

This is a video on the top six largest sauropods. It compares them size to size, and it also includes the supersaurus!

I wonder if the spikes on their backs were attached to their spines?

This websites provides excellent proof of the fact that global warming is real. In the last 650,000 years CO2 levels did not go over 300 ppm. However in recent times the ppm has sky rocketed to 390 ppm. I find it is also frightening that ten of the hottest years occurred in the last 12 years. Coldest records are not being reported as often as they used to be. The top 700 meters of the ocen has rose a frightening .3 degrees Fahrenheit seance 1969. The acidity of the ocean has also risen by 30%. This website backs up my ideas on climate change. I believe and so does NASA that global warming is happening now.

This link show you that global warming does make an effect on the earth. It tells you lots of good information. I was surprised that the earth has had its hottest temperatures in the last 12 years! There has been no coldest records in a long time.

Although emerging markets are a very large portion of the problem, they are necessary for any solution. Most books that talk about the environment has the West as the starting point. This is a very understandable starting place. For many decades the United States of America has been the largest polluter, contributing to the problem more than any other country in the world. Europe, has environmental laws to negotiate new and different solutions. Now Europe and the United States of America are only in supporting roles. Now the leaders are China and India. China emites nearly half of current global emissions. India accounted for 83% of the worldwide increase of carbon emissions from the years 2000-2011. Global warming started with industrialized countries. But, it can only end with developing ones. India and China are fully engrossed in growth of the countries. To continue to feed this growth they are building more and more coal-fired power stations, which is a very bad form of energy. The cities in China and India fume smoke and the rivers are catching on fire. Global warming will effect developing countries very much more then rich ones. A little bit because tropical and sub tropical areas are much more sensitive to warming and cooling temperatures. Richer areas can pay for better flood control and drought-resistent seeds that poor countries. William Cline, an economist, estimated a rise of merely 2.5% in temperature wold cause a 6% decrees in agriculture productivity in the United States of America. but in India there would be a 38% decrees. China and India are very vulnerable. New economic giants (such as China and India) will have to push rich countries to make more environmental compromises. Messrs Mattoo and Submaranian estimate that if China and India want to cut their carbon emissions by 30% in 2020, their production rate would fall 6-7% and the manufactured exports would be effected much more than that. Poor countries cannot handle the issues as well.

The climate has been changing ever since the Earth began, even before humans, but modern weather measurements only go back to 100-150 years ago. We don't know what the climate of the Earth really was in the prehistoric times. The Earth is getting warmer. According to tests, the Earth's surface temperature has risen more than 1.33 degrees fahrenheit since the late 1800s. There is more about what is causing the climate to change and what the climate will look like in the future.

It was very interesting to see how big animals were back then and how the acted. I found titanaboa a bit creepy, but interesting.

That was really intriguing. I knew snakes could grow up to be very large, but never big enough to swallow a cow whole! Great find!

This is a really useful website about future climate change and what is expected to happen with global warming up until the year 2099. It has a bunch of helpful diagrams and written information as well.

Climate change will have many affects of our world climate in the future. Rain pattern are expected to change drastically and that means that Colorado could have lots of rain and places like Maine would have arid climates. The Earths average temperature will rise, which isn't something new but this means that oceans will rise so much that they will flood islands and kost likeley the keys. Along with the increased sea level the Earth will get a higher pH in the oceans. Many areas that have used their climate to grow crops or do certain activities will face an impending change. Crops will die in places that turn cold. Melted snow runoff in the himilayas might flood village's. All of these changes depend upon the amount of greenhouse gases are admitted into the atmosphere. Natural features may play a role to. Say, a volcano eruption, could possibly speed up the process in said area of eruption. This was a very useful website that talked about the size of the sauropods bodies and necks, what they ate, and a lot of other cool facts about them.

Sauropods are not heavily armed, but later versions of sauropods had some form of armor which was used as protection against other predators. Sauropods were plant eaters and had a very small brain hecause their head was very small. They were herbavores and ate mostley connifers.

Many people agree in the United States of America and abroad. MAny believe it is because of greenhouse gases from humans. Scientists are trying to answer some very important questions such as how quickly will the world warm, and what consequences will that have on certain parts of the world. The global temperature average has risen by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit over the last 100 years. NOAA said that the decade between 2000-2010 was the warmest decade on record. 2005 was the warmest year on record. There have been more intense rainfall and severe heat waves. Sea levels are rising. The Earth does go through warming and cooling because of factors such as sun and volcanic activity. The warming and cooling is partly natural and partly because of humans. The sun's energy has fluctuated but is small in comparison compared to human's effect. The warming is consistent with what happens with heat trapping carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide can lead to climate changes that can hurt plants, animals, and people. For every 2 degrees Fahrenheit raise 5-15% reductions in crops. 3-10% increase in rain which would create flooding. 5-10% increase in stream flow. 200-400% increase in wildfires in the western United States. Scientists predict that the temperature will rise 2-12 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100. It is not too late too fix climate change!

This website is really interesting because it says that dragonflies have grown by 15%. It was interesting, but irrelivent to the unit.

The giant dragon flies are 15 percent larger than others. This is interesting to know and read!

The reason why dragonflies are smaller is because of a decrease in oxygen over the years since then. The deacreased oxygen makes the bugs smaller because there is less oxygen for there bodies
