BIG BOLD NOTE: Don't post if you have nothing nice to say or if you want to debate me on this. It's pointless.
For those of you saying it won't help, when Sydney turned all of its lights off, the energy conserved was equivalent to taking 20,000+ cars off the highway. So even if you don't believe in global warming, at least do it to conserve energy.
It could also be good for the economy. You and/or your parents (for those of you still living with them) could save money on the electric bill. Companies could save money. People spend way too much on energy and this could just help it. Energy costs are going up and if people help conserve it, demand could go down thus causing prices to go down.
THIS IS NOT A DEBATE THREAD. If you don't agree with it, go to Extended Discussion and freak out about it there. I realize I may have gotten a little upset when I noticed more people were against it at first than for it, but I've cooled down now. If you want to debate about this, go somewhere else. Not here.
