Hello to all, I took one of our recommended readings for this week (Building a Learner Centered Syllabus) and literally got lost in it, perhaps going on too soon into syllabus design. However, after hours of frustration, I am beginning to think about what my online course might look like, and what the syllabus should contain. My typical stumbling block, ever since the Assessment revolution, is distinguishing goals and SLO's... it is so hard for me to condence "teaching" into limited-word formulas. This was an offshoot of studying the Building... reading, that I found useful: http://teaching.berkeley.edu/designing-your-course Is this where we post linked suggestions? All best, Judy
Judy, I think you are great company in this course! You have made feel less overwhelmed and given some great links and encouragement! Thanks, Elizabeth
