This innovative conference organised by Sisters in Crime is aimed at anyone you wants to write about crime with authority and credibility, as well as non-writers who simply wish to further their understanding of forensic science. The conference offers two-and-a-half days of classes delivered by forensic experts.

This 2 day conference (26th/27th June) organised by Northumbria University in conjunction with the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), will discuss and debate several issues relating to the future of forensic science.

In what is claimed to be a world's first, delegates at the UK National Police Improvement Agency's annual e-crime conference looked on as a forensic examination of a remote computer was conducted via a mobile phone some 70 miles away.

Testament to the the growing academic and legal interest in brain scanning was a recent conference dedicated to the subject. "The law and ethics of brain scanning: The next big thing coming to a courtroom near you" took place back in April in Pheonix Arizona and drew together judges, psychologists, neuroscientists, lawyers and ethicists.
